STUD WELDING

GRG designed and built prototype projection welding tooling to weld studs onto a heat shield, completing the initiative over an 8-month duration. We effectively transitioned from MIG to projection welding for studs, showcasing feasibility during the prototyping phase. Our approach involved reusing existing equipment, including the projection welder and handling robot, while integrating new components such as the feeder, receiver, fixtures, and end effector. This innovative solution not only optimized production efficiency but also demonstrated our commitment to leveraging existing assets for high-quality results.
