GRG developed a flexible welding system for commercial door frames over 28 months, achieving an exceptional cycle time of just 20 seconds. This advanced system accommodates varying sizes with three main profiles and multiple hinge parts, designed to handle 38 different frame types. Utilizing laser welding technology, the setup includes four handling robots and two welding robots, all variably adjustable to seven profile families with distinct dimensions. GRG’s innovative solution features fully automatic type changes without the need for manual changeover and employs flexible fixtures that can be utilized across all model types, ensuring efficiency and versatility in production.
